Is Scrap Copper Metal Recycling Supply Meeting Demands

March 21, 2018 by Jenna Mancinni Leave a Comment

Is Scrap Copper Metal Recycling Supply Meeting Demands

Most people today know that copper is a valuable metal that is sought after by many industries, as well as scrappers, who are looking to either make a living or supplement their income. In the recycling industry, there tends to be an ebb and flow for certain types of metals over time, and copper is no exception.

In the last several years, copper recycling has become increasingly popular due to the value of this metal. It is used for a wide variety of consumer products including building materials, housewares, industrial products, and even electronics. Copper has many uses and that has created a steady demand for the material in both the foreign and domestic markets.

The domestic demand for copper has increased lately due to the decreasing demand from countries like China that have backed away from copper imports lately according to a recent article in Recycling Today. The U.S. has a steady demand for copper most notably in the construction industry which is enjoying steady growth. Industry professionals overseeing scrapping operations regionally are reporting increased copper scrap values which are sparking additional interest in recycling copper. The COMEX price is linked to the increase of obsolete copper supply lately.

An interesting point to note in relation to the current price of copper is its difference in scrap prices as opposed to the commodity exchange prices which have continued to gain in recent times according to the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI). Experts say that the demand for different grades of copper varies, for instance, no. 1 copper is in demand, but bare bright copper is not. In all, however, the domestic market is having a hard time keeping up with the total demand, and that is attracting scrappers all over the country to try their hand at making some extra money.

Copper coins recycle

Before bringing in scrap copper to sell, individuals who are seeking to make some additional money should check the market value currently and compare it to the price the scrap yard is offering to ensure that they are getting a fair price. Most reputable recycling facilities offer a fair price, but it is wise to check ahead of time to make sure. Facilities vary across the country, but once you find one that is easy to work with and honest, you should keep doing business with them in the future.

There are recycling centers located all over the country in most small and medium-sized towns and cities. Some of these recycling centers such as Gardner Metal Recycling that offer the highest market value price for copper scrap, and looks forward to working with the citizens of the community to help do their part to supply the demand for copper in this country. Gardner Metal Recycling is located in Austin, Texas, and is one of the state’s premier metal recycling facilities. People who are interested in getting the most for their scrap copper are encouraged to take it to Gardner Metal Recycling so they can get the most money for their offerings.

Jenna Mancinni has a passion for helping people understand and learn what it means to ‘lessen their carbon footprint’. She speaks publicly to grade schools and teaches kids the benefits of recycling  and the importance of the phrase “reduce, reuse, recycle”. She also enjoys putting used products into her, one of a kind, art pieces.

Types And Uses Of Battery And Electric Scissor Lifts

December 4, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

Types And Uses Of Battery And Electric Scissor Lifts

When you need to do some work above the ground, you require an equipment that can safely and conveniently hoist you. For any height between 21-62 feet, scissor lifts provide the elevated working platform.

Scissor lift is the elevated working platform that has a crisscross pattern. Since it can only move vertically up and down, it must be positioned directly under the working area. Lift or descent is attained by contracting or stretching the crisscross scissor mechanism.

For upward motion, pressure is applied at the exterior of the lowest set of supports which elongates the X pattern vertically propelling the work platform. To get the working platform down, the crisscross is contracted. The contraction is done hydraulically, pneumatically or mechanically.

Types of scissor lifts

Scissor lifts are commonly classified depending on the mechanism used to operate the crisscross or the terrain it can operate.

Based on the terrain, we have battery or electric scissor lifts for easy terrain lifts and rough terrain scissor lifts. The electric lifts work well on smooth or solid work surfaces hence most commonly used for indoor applications.

The rough terrain is the scissor lift of choice for outdoor applications. Designed to navigate the unstable and uneven terrains, it used for rough rigorous jobs.

The different mechanisms of operation bring particular advantages to the scissor lift. The hydraulic lift is easy to use and operate and can handle relatively heavy weights. Certain special liquids are used to initiate advancement.

Mechanical scissor lifts can only handle lighter weights and reach shorter heights unless it is upgraded from a single to a multi-stage lifting capacity.

The environment friendly pneumatic lift uses air pressure for lift. Since it does not have emissions, it can be used both indoors and outdoors. With few moving parts and no engine, it easy and cheap to maintain.

Suitable Tasks And Uses for a scissor lift

1) House/ building maintenance and repairs

Whether it is interior or exterior maintenance, the scissor lift comes in handy. Getting to the high points during maintenance can be a daunting task. The scissor lift is the solution that brings a steady and safe platform that would comfortably enable you carry out repairs.

Interior maintenance activities like ceiling repainting, wiring and changing electrical bulbs, painting high walls, repair and servicing of equipment hang on the ceiling etc. are well done on this lift.

Window washing, painting and repainting, caulk replacement, roof repairs and fascia board repainting are some exterior maintenance activities using a scissor lift enables one to efficiently carry out.

If damage is suspected, the lifts are also used to hoist workers up to inspect.

2) Transport

Transferring heavy objects from one point to another can be an extremely difficult undertaking. Apart from health effects, the safety of the load is compromised. But with a scissor lift, it’s as simple as loading the object and driving to the destination.

If it is indoors, the electric or battery powered scissor lift will be the best choice. For outdoor transport, the heavy duty rough terrain scissor lift is the real deal.

In industries, the multi-leveled scissor lifts are used to transport heavy equipment and products to higher floors.

3) Gardening

Have you found yourself wondering how you would prune the tall trees in your garden? Or how to access the juicy fruits seductively dangling from high up the tree? Wonder no more. The scissor lift is the solution.

The all-terrain scissor lift presents you a safe platform to access the garden heights. You are able to prune the trees or harvest fruit without the danger of falling off. Scissor lifts make the whole gardening experience a safe and pleasant one.

4) Warehousing applications

The services of a scissor lift are very critical in any warehouse. Not only does it facilitate easy efficient movement of items but also allows maximization of space i.e. by enabling use of aerial space for storage.

Warehouses stack goods in shelves high up. The scissor lifts helps in stacking as well as quick retrieval of goods from the high built shelves.

 5) Construction works

Construction is one industry that employs the use of scissor lifts perhaps more than any other. Regardless of whether it is level or storey building, a lot material will have to be transported. Not only materials, workers too will need to be hoisted above ground to areas they need to work.

These tasks are well carried out with scissor lifts. More to safety, it saves time and money.

6) Events industry

You can’t set up or set down a large event without using scissor cliffs. In the large auditorium or field you will need to hang signage, lift equipment like lighting systems and speakers and the decoration crews. Scissor lifts provides a safe platform for that.

Tips To Increase Milk Production And Profits On A Dairy Farm

October 29, 2017 by Micheal White Leave a Comment

Tips To Increase Milk Production And Profits On A Dairy Farm

For every dairy farmer there are a number of issues that have to be resolved in order to maximise production levels and increase profits as a result. It can become a complicated business if you allow it to, but with dairy farming there are a number of variables to your profit and a few simple rules and strategies to adhere to in order to maximise efficiencies. One simple way to work is to always use the highest quality products to increase dairy farm biosecurity levels. This, combined with the strategies outlined in this article will see your dairy farm perform to ever-higher standards in the coming months and years.

The Variable on Profitability of Dairy Farming

There are a number of key variables that can determine, and allow for, an increase in your profit margin as a dairy farm owner. The first thing to consider is the volume of milk sold. If you can increase your milk production levels and commercialization, it allows you to expand without increasing your fixed costs such as heating, electricity and other factors on the farm. Linked to this variable is the price you are selling your milk for, though this hugely depends on the market and the opportunities each specific farm has available to it. By improving the quality of milk and lessening the risk of germs etc. you can increase the price naturally through a clear demonstration of your quality and high standards.

Other variables include the optimization of feeding processes. Utilising certain supplements and processes to feed your herd can help to improve the milk index, generating a higher return on investment. The last variable is that of any maintenance fees that you are obligated to pay. Sometimes these costs can be based on the number of animals you have active on the farm, or linked to manure, animal house and any equipment used for milking.  By boosting productivity you can reduce costs across the board.

How to Increase Milk Production

Before making plans to increase milk production on your dairy farm, first conduct a thorough evaluation of all procedures, equipment and products used, all animal health, housing and other environmental concerns. From there you can put in place strict procedures and policies to help improve animal health and increase milk production and efficiencies.

The first thing to focus on is the management of herd reproductive issues. By increasing the performance of reproduction you can decrease the interval between calving, increasing the chances of diet being fully utilised from mother to calf. There are nutritional supplements that can also be used to assist during this process if natural methods are not working to maximum levels at times. Another important factor to take full control over is the health of your herd. This can be achieved through high standards of nutrition, quality feeding processes and cleaning products and techniques. As well as for the health of each individual cow, the entire housing and management of the herd as a whole should be taken into account.

Through careful management of your dairy herd and the implementation of proper procedures and on-site structures you can increase milk production and your profits as a result.

Document Management System, Business Paper Storage Solutions

October 5, 2017 by Iona Parkins Leave a Comment

Document Management System, Business Paper Storage Solutions

Document management is a vital component of any successful business. If you run a business you’ll need to know how your storage of physical and paper documents can affect the growth of your company. There are plenty of reasons why you might need to think about taking your physical business documents out of the office, and store them in a secure business document storage facility at a location close to your business, through a company that you can trust.

Searching for a company that provides a secure document storage and business document management service will go some way to providing you with peace of mind that your important business documents are being stored in a safe and secure way, ready to be collected and used as and when you need them next. By doing so you are adhering to data protection legislation, helping to provide your staff with a clearer outlook in the workplace and new smoother processes to work with, and also freeing space in the office that can now be used in ways to make the business money, rather than just space that houses the growing piles of documents that all businesses accumulate as they grow.

By storing your old business documents away in a secure location you can think about digitising those parts of files and folders that are still required by your employees for daily use and processes within the systems you have implemented. A secure long-term storage solution close to your work premises allows you to digitise the important aspects of your old documents and have them ready for your staff to use. Even if this is not the idea at first, by storing elsewhere you are leaving yourself with the chance to maximise efficiency and output in your current business location, utilising previously dead space.

Another aspect that is often overlooked when it comes to business data and documents is that by keeping them on-site, they aren’t just gathering dust, the documents are in fact in danger. There could be vital information, or personal information relating to your employees, suppliers and customers. What happens if these documents are stolen from your premises? Or if there is a fire or flood and documents are damaged or completely destroyed? There is little you can do to protect from these instances, whereas by storing in a secure document storage facility close by you’ll have peace of mind that these things are much less likely to take place there, than at your business premises.

For many businesses there will be a requirement to retrieve documents for future use once they have been stored away. Look to work alongside a document storage facility that has a proper track and trace procedure in place. That way your items will be easily located, retrieved and sent to you as and when you require them. If you have digitised those documents as well, you can also request that the digital copy is sent as well as the authentic original and physical.

All of these things can help a business to run a lot more smoothly and grow efficiently. Document storage solutions are a vital component of any successful business.

4 Steps To Video Storytelling And Using Videos in Marketing

4 Steps To Video Storytelling And Using Videos in Marketing

With an increasing number of companies looking into incorporating videos into their marketing strategies, storytelling has become more important than ever. Savvy companies worldwide are using visual stories to convey messages that are inspiring and engaging. However, this is a concept that many businesses struggle with, often resulting in stories which are too complicated, or devoid of emotion. Here are the four P’s of storytelling—people, places, plot, and purpose.

People

Having good characters is an essential step to getting your audience emotionally involved. You need the audience to invest in the characters, to root for the good guys and rage against the bad. Making a connection with viewers and the people in your video is the first major step to getting them to invest in your product.

Be creative in the uniqueness of your character; sometimes even an object can make an interesting character, they do not have to be human.

Places

Videos are capable of communicating large amounts of information in very short frames of time. Therefore, a good setting of your video can add substantial depth to your story, and intrigue the audience, while a bad one can detract. Here are some guidelines to choosing the right location:

  1. Relevance—is the location you’re considering relevant to the characters you created? Is it relevant to the overall story/message?
  2. Comfort—is this a place that your characters feel comfortable?
  3. Production friendly—does this location provide enough space for the production crew to work effectively? Is the sound and lighting suitable?

Plot

Every good story needs an element of conflict and journey throughout the narrative. Conflict can arise in a variety of guises, whether it include a flawed character, a mental barrier, or even a physical limitation. What is your character trying to overcome, and how will your audience connect with their struggle? Make sure that the resolution also adds to the message you want to send about your brand.

Purpose

Purpose is centered on the questions, “why should people care about your story?” and “what does your story actually mean?”You need to be able to state the purpose of your message to the target audience in a memorable and engaging way.

As humans, we are built to react and connect to stories, but they must be interesting and authentic. They need to move your audience emotionally if your goal is to get them passionate about your brand. Think carefully about the four P’s of storytelling. These essential qualities will help build a strong foundation for your next marketing video, and increase its’ chance of success.

Starting A New Photography Business?

June 3, 2017 by Florin A. Leave a Comment

Starting A New Photography Business

If you’ve dreamed of being a photographer for years, and you’ve decided to take the leap now, well done! You’ve made a brave decision, but it is one which will reap great rewards if you heed advice and take the right steps.

It’s always a good idea to listen to professionals in the business, those who have been doing this for a long time, and have probably made all the mistakes for you. Listening to their advice means that you can avoid the mistakes they made, and this clears the road to success for you.

To help you on your path to photography success, here are a few tips to bear in mind.

Create a website as your first step

Nobody gets anywhere without an online portfolio these days, because everyone looks on the Internet when they are trying to hire someone, for any job at all. Make sure your site is professional, it looks the part, and it shows your best work. Remember to have clear contact details, and keep updating regularly.

Freelance on the side first

It’s all very well and good being gung-ho and quitting your day job, sure in the knowledge that you’re going to succeed, but you need a back up plan, and you need to also see if this is going to work for you first. Slowly slowly is always the best plan of action. On top of this, it’s very easy for a creative mind to get overloaded from time to time, so having your main job is something which will help you keep balance in your mind.

Answer queries straight away

Don’t hand around waiting to answer someone’s query; the longer you wait, the more chance there is of them going somewhere else. Answering a question won’t take long, but it could be the difference between getting that gig, or it going to someone else.

You are going to fail, and you are going to miss jobs

You need to make peace with the fact that you’re going to make the odd mistake from time to time, and it’s okay. You will learn harsh lessons in any creative profession, especially such a competitive one, but you need to learn from them every time.

Streamline your equipment

Yes, you need the odd bit of equipment for specialist jobs, but really, if you have a top quality camera, you don’t need all manner of added extras, it just complicates things. Narrow your lenses down to three, or you could even go as far as two, provided you know how to use them in the best possible way. You don’t want to be carrying more heavy equipment from job to job than is necessary!

Always back up your work

Do not rely on technology, it breaks at some point! Back up any work you do on a memory stick or in an online cloud, and this will give you total peace of mind.

You will be a jack of all trades

When you are a photographer, you’re not just the guy or girl taking the photos, you are your own manager, your own decision maker, your own book-keeper, your own website manager, you’re basically everything, and you need to prioritize your time accordingly. As your business grows, as it surely will, it might be an idea to consider hiring someone who can help you, perhaps with your website needs, if this is not something which is your strong point.

It’s about how you treat people

Photography is a very hands-on and personalized job, and you will be dealing with people in real situations, sometimes personal situations, such as a wedding day, for example. For this reason, the most basic of things needs to be in your mind – manners and personality. This could be the difference between a word of mouth referral to someone else, resulting in another job, or negative feedback, which can be very damaging indeed.

Tips on buying stationery and prevent smudging drawing sheets

Tips on buying stationery and prevent smudging drawing sheets

Think before buying your stationery

Students, artists , professionals and stationery lovers would like to pay attention to this. Students from architecture and design field spend more on stationery than anything else during their course. So before buying them you can check some minor details which will help you choose better.

Graphite lead pencils should be checked by looking at them from vertically upwards. The placement of the lead should be in the center. This prevents the pencil lead from breaking off easily while writing. Another very important aspect of a lead pencil is that it should be made up of uniform colored and textured wood. The same can be observed by looking at its base.

Rulers are another integral part of the lot. The edges of the ruler should be smooth. The plastic ruler should be used for construction and its calibrations could be checked of being at uniform intervals.

Clutch pencils are generally not used for drawing because line-weight cannot be emphasized using it. They are preferred for markings.

A paper cutter would be a better bargain instead of a sharpener as it helps prevent unnecessary loss of the pencil wood.  In case of using a paper cutter, the tip can be sharpened without losing too much wooden part.

How to prevent smudging your drawing sheets?

  • Often while drawing the sheets are smudged and are definitely not presentable that way. There are certain precautions which can be helpful   ; while sketching a sheet of paper should be kept beneath the working hand. This keeps the working area clean. Another technique can be of use. While using a plastic ruler a cello tape strip can be pasted on the rear side of the ruler. This prevents smudging while dragging it.
  • Little things do affect the neatness of your sheets. The rough side of the sheet should be used and brittle pencils should be avoided. While writing with the pencil you should keep rotating it so that the tip remains sharp for long, and thickness of lines are even; hence avoiding use of erasers.
  • Avoid eating and drawing simultaneously
  • Keep your pencils separately, not with other instruments.
  • Clean instruments before starting to work with them.
  • Use non dust erasers.

How to create successful businesses out of hobbies?

January 13, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

How to create successful businesses out of hobbies

Having a hobby not only helps spend time constructively but also be creative and innovative. Those who do not have any hobby cannot live their life fully. One just needs to take out sometime during the day. One can either take up painting, singing, dancing, writing or anything as a hobby. Working and non – working both can have some hobby.

Whilst working people can relax and become creative with a hobby; no – working people can spend the leisure time in some worthwhile task or activity. Not just that non – working people can even make a business out of their hobby. For instance, those who have painting as a hobby, can over a period of time hold a painting of art pieces and make known to the world the hidden talent. One can also earn a worthwhile amount out of such a hobby. The same holds true for other hobbies.

Many a times, what starts as a hobby grows to an extent that it can turn out into a business. Writing is another example. A writer can compile the literary pieces and publish a book. There have been many instances in the past wherein, people have made a successful business out of their hobbies!

Avoid too much reporting in your small business

I asked one of my friend few years back, “what have you been doing, you look tired”. He said, “It’s my #!s$#*@ boss, he keeps telling me to make reports. I am sick and tired of it. There’s no further developments but he says I need the reports on Every Monday and Friday and all.” The problem here is not the boss but the reports. But, that’s how people react when they do stuffs which are of little or no use. There are two possible solutions for this. One is to make sure that reporting is done once in a month or in fifteen days or the boss should have explained why these reports are needed? I have always been against with too much reporting from the beginning. Reports are necessary but if you dedicate your time in things which are already present then, when will you create something new. Planning is necessary but I have seen some people, they keep planning and end up doing nothing. You need to have proper balance with plans and their execution.

How to learn things?

Some great men have said that if you repeat a certain action for 21 days it becomes a habit. Well that requires a lot of patience .Some tried out tips are mentioned below:-

  • Mnemonics are your best friends, if they are not try befriending them. Mnemonics are certain riddles or funny connotations that you attach with your word or a set of information. For

e.g. to recall the 8 parts of speech you can device your own mnemonic like PAPA VINC for (verb, preposition, conjunction, noun, pronoun, preposition, adverb and adjective)

  • Or we can connect it with a funny incident or a sentence like Mom Very Eagerly Made Jam Sandwiches and Uniform Nine Pizzas. Which helps you remember the name of the nine planets in sequence.
  •  It might appear childish but the brain needs to be tricked into remembering information. Certain gamed can also be made out for learning for e.g. to make your child remember how many days are there in each month you can teach him the hand game. When you fold your fist and turn back you see rises and depressions. Each rise accounts for 31 days and each depression for 30 except February.
  • Brain can be trained to do anything but what it requires is repetition, so the old maxim stays practice does make you perfect. Writing also helps sometimes in exams you remember the page where you had written that something down which helps you recall an answer.
  • This tip is a bit hard but try it out if you can. While going to bed if you recall something and there is some part which you cannot remember do get up from the bed and look for it. Believe me you would never forget something which made you take all the pain.
  • There is a famous saying that says if you want to remember your wife’s birthday all you have to do is forget it once. Recalling dates is something that we all have hard time doing. We all do remember our national holidays we can try relating it with the anniversaries that we keep forgetting, for e.g. you can associate your wedding anniversary with the independence day like how many days after it does the day comes when you lost your independence. You will have to give it a thought or else you can just set a reminder on your phone.
