Positive Thinking: An important key to success

December 1, 2016 by admin Leave a Comment

Positive Thinking An important key to success

A normal human being lives about 60-70 years and during these years, he faces a lot of things may be good or may be bad, because every day is not the same. Sometimes things may be according to him, as he wishes but at the same time, the things may go wrong unexpectedly. These things tests a man his thinking and approach towards happy life.

Positive thinking is very important to be successful in life. Not only in professional career but also in personal life. If things go wrong, rather than thinking on various aspects of negative points, one should neglect those things and try to avoid them. At the same time, try to extract out the hidden positives from the negative one because everything has both of the aspects. So it depends on us how we take the solution, which may worsen the situation or is for the betterment of it.

Always remember before taking any decision

“You are alone responsible for the quality of your life”.

Self Obsession: Be Alert!

What you will call a person who always cares about himself and least bothered about others.

Is he a mad?

No, it’s actually a psychology related problem. Such an individual is the one who can’t stop thinking about himself. These people believe themselves to be superior and for them, others have no value.

There are many reasons for the increasing cases of self obsession but the one and most important is our society. A bit of this quality is not harmful at all but when it crosses beyond a certain limit, it acquires a form of psychological disorder. Social and occupational reasons play a major role. If a person is not comfortable and content socially and professionally, he may be the victim. In other terms a single word which describes the above said point is “Insecurity”.

Such a person has no globe of world, their world lies only around themselves. They behave in a self centered manner. If they are in a relationship with a person they are never bothered of their partner. They only think about their happiness, which makes situation stressful. Again these relations are not secured due to their own fault. Nowadays, teenagers suffer a lot from this type of problem.

When do we hear and when do we listen?

Like always we are again stuck in between the conundrum of the written and the spoken .While we speak at home or informally it is for the sole purpose of communication. But formal speech does require a little caution. We ‘hear’ something even if we don’t want to. While we were walking we heard a group of kids shouting, it is not an intended gesture, rather it is an occurrence, whereas we listen when we want to . Listening is a conscious activity for e.g. I was listening (was involved voluntarily in the activity).

Face Challenges for a Better Life

Life constantly throws challenges from time to time. In fact, challenges make lives thrilling. What is life without challenges? Not everyone loves to tackle challenges though. Many are content with what they have and do not look beyond the mundane things. Even when, unexpectedly when some challenges come up, many look for ways to escape.

There are only two ways to deal with challenging situations in our. One is to face them and the other is to turn our face away from them. It is all up to us as to which path we choose. Facing challenges boldly makes one not only strong but also opens doors that we thought were closed.

Those who choose to find ways to escape from the challenging situations only end up making weak themselves. If we don’t try to find answers to something we are unsure of, then how will we evolve? Strangely enough, challenges have a knack of revealing our stronger side that even we are not aware of.

Facing challenges helps us look for alternatives and makes us strong in the end. It helps lead a better life too and grow over a period of time. Therefore, face challenges with grit.

However, those who get it done for the first time are quite apprehensive about the whole procedure. They are afraid, it may cause pain. They are in a dilemma that they may have to experience pain during the procedure. But what is the truth?

Do tattoos really hurt? The answer is yes. Since the procedure involves needles being repeatedly stuck into the skin, it does pain. But not all tattoos pain excessively. The reason is simple. Tattoos will hurt if longer lines are designed. Shorter lines do not cause much pain. It all depends on the design and the extent of the coverage on the body. One can expect slight pain while undergoing the process. During the process, the part of the body where tattoo is being done may go numb for some time. This becomes normal after some time.

Various parts of the body such as the spine, feet, neck, wrists etc., will cause varying amount of pain. Wherever the deposit of fat on the body is less, pain will be more. Moreover, the time consumed to the tattoo also decides the severity of pain. Therefore, one can expect minimum amount of pain while getting the tattoo done.

How to individually contribute towards environment?

How to individually contribute towards environment

How to individually contribute towards environment?

Environment must not be an issue that should be close to the heart of environmentalists only. It must be important to everyone. The environment we live in is of our own making. Mother earth, gave enough to all to meet their needs. It is the human greed that exploited nature for personal gains and played havoc with it.

The startling increase in the environmental deterioration is the biggest proof of this act. The depleting ozone layer, the melting ice glaciers, deforestation and the other imbalances that have taken place of late rare staring right in our face.

If we don’t wake up to these perilous revelations now, then nothing can save us. Maintaining the greenery around us, keeping the environment clean, abandoning use of plastic and other non-degradable substances are all small things that will go a long way in ensuring greenery. Practicing such things can at the least prevent further damage to environment and possible alter the looming threat.

Spreading the environmental cause on a wide scale can bring about positive changes. Educating people through various mediums about the cause can go a long way in increasing awareness about the issue. Let everyone do their bit and see the change!

What are the causes of environmental pollution?

When man’s population was small and technology was in its infancy, environment could easily absorb human and industrial wastes. With increasing human population, contamination of environment is also increasing. This contamination of environment, in scientific language, is termed as pollution.

“Pollution may be defined as a change in physical, chemical or biological aspects of environment, which makes it harmful for humans, for other living organisms, and for cultural assets”.

The basic cause of environmental pollution lies in man itself and the activities adopted by him. The clean lands, exhaust of fresh water resources, gases released by human activities play a major role in pollution. Beside this, some natural causes are also responsible which includes volcanic eruptions, UV radiation, soil erosion, dust storms, decomposition of organic matter etc. But the major control of this problem lies in human hands only. And fortunately man realized his mistakes in 1969 and started to take steps to avoid pollution of environment, but not to the desired extend. But still a number of International programmes had been started by International authorities.

What is Ozone layer and Ozone hole?

Ozone layer is a layer above earth’s surface, which prevents the harmful ultra-violet rays from entering in the earth’s atmosphere and reach us. These uv rays are harmful for mankind as they may cause mutations which may cause various types of cancer as skin cancer. They may sometimes prove to be lethal (dangerous for life).

In 1985, a hole in the stratosphere layer of the earth’s environment was discovered above the Antartica, which shook the world. Further studies on this issue revealed the cause for this depletion and was found to be human activities. The major reason was the chlorofluorocarbon (CFC). It is produced by human activities. Many effort had been put forward by International unions and environmentalists to reduce the CFC production, and we have been successful to a great extend. Now fewer CFC is entering the atmosphere, as the use of this fridge gas has been banned all over the world.

But still, the amount of CFC already present in the atmosphere is sufficient to continue the damage of ozone layer for atleast hundred more years. Another small hole has appeared over the North pole. Ozone layer is thining over Europe and North America.

Though now we have realized our mistakes environment, but we have to suffer along way due to its consequences.

Short Story: And So Goes The Song Of Life

Short Story And So Goes The Song Of Life

PEEPPP….. PPEEE…. DHOOOOOSHSHSHSH…… PEEPPPEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!! All around the vehicles are screeching… I must cross the road… Damn! Where’s the signal?? I can hear the honking all around me… must cross now… Why in the world my sandal strap’s coming lose now???? I step on the road… and the signal turns GREEN… the vehicles advance…. menacingly….

I wake up with a start to sweat beads. The alarm’s ringing and… Oh my God! Didn’t I just sleep?? It’s already 7:00 am! Must remember to drop the phone check on my way today…. My head aches as I open my eyes to see the sun beams lighting my window sill and I see dust… what Robert Fulghum would call stardust, casting a beam all over my room… it’s very beautiful.. but no time now to really stand back and admire the ways of nature… so I drag myself out of bed and head straight for a bath.

In the meantime my mental checklist is bombarding me with all kinds of reminders… the phone check to be paid, the newspaper headlines, the milk to be boiled, the clothes to be soaked, the stale bread lying in the refrigerator, the dust bin to be cleared, the visit to the bank, instructions for the maid…. Mind is in a chaos… grappling with all this…

Tick Tock! TICK TOCK!!!

After my bath, I find myself ironing the clothes…. Another five min for my checklist to rattle off… the client meeting to be arranged, the quality checks to be streamlined, the roster to be put in place, the reports, the 200 odd mails to be checked…. 200 odd mails…!! Each day and everyday. My mind refuses to stop giving me instructions… things to do… very important things to do. As if these things would never get done if I don’t do them… But hang on… I was told nothing and no one is indispensable… So where did this thought come from? Blame it on the morning chaos…

Ironing is over and kitchen needs to be attended to now… just then I notice some pigeons on my balcony, feeding on bajra seeds, strewn by my guardian angel… they seem so utterly peaceful and content. They have their sun, their morning peace and their breakfast… all readymade… while they bask in the glory of the gilded sun rays… My eyes rivet to the wall and the grandfather is telling me it’s already 7:45 am!!

I rush to the kitchen and quickly fix up a make do breakfast of Maggi and a glass of milk. I am told, if all and every one of us were to start their day with a glass of milk, our world would be a much happier and healthier place to live in… So I believe… therefore the stress on milk…

Ding Dong!!     DING DONG!!

My breakfast reverie shatters… now who’s this?
“Newspaper bill Madam – Rs. 107.50/-”
I hand over Rs.110/- and politely wait for the change…
“No change Madam.”
Now I know I don’t have Rs. 7:50/- so I snap back, “Get it from the shop downstairs.”
And he also snaps back a denial…

CALM DOWN…. Now a good idea to start a day with snapping back… Not a good idea at all…!

I close my eyes. Breathe easy and ask him to keep all the money… You have to grant me this… I didn’t snap back… just politely muttered through clenched teeth “Keep the change”.

He leaves… leaving a bad taste…

I am back in the kitchen and try to gulp down the dried up remains of my breakfast… I drink water and am ready to leave for the station to catch my usual 8:15 am Church gate Fast local…

I collect my keys, wear my shoes…and just then… Oh No, Not AGAIN!

Ding Dong! DING DONG!!!

This time it’s more complicated… I open the door and guess who’s there… It’s like you are marooned and famished and the only option at hand is to have cold tea with stale dry bread and that too, only 2 measly pieces… THAT’s the way I feel when I look at this man… and right now, he’s at my door, looking alarmingly agitated. Meet My Landlord!

He’s accompanied by the building Secretary, who’s usually a quiet and indifferent kind of guy, but as of now he looks capable of murder…

They want to check my kitchen water connection… The secretary is upset. It has been leaking all over his house for the last 2 days. His house is in a mess and his wife is not so happy about it… though his 5 year old son doesn’t seem to mind this indoor swimming pool… My Landlord is upset. He’ll have to shell out precious money to fix this up… and I am upset… I don’t have time for all this!!! I’ll get late to work… The only thing on my mind is 8:15 Churchgate Fast… I hold my tongue and suggest, I think politely, “Can we do this over the weekend please?”

No takers for this however…

I suggest, “Look, I am in a hurry. I’ll get late to work.”
The Secretary says, “Madam, you are away the whole day and I need to get this fixed. My whole house is in a mess and my family is very upset…and I can’t wait for the weekend to arrive!”
My Landlord quips in, “Look Madam, I am a very important man and I can’t afford to come for these kind of ridiculous things every day. This has to be done today and I mean TODAY and I mean right now actually…!”
“But I just don’t have the time right now. Why didn’t you intimate me about this in advance?”
“Look I am the landlord and I decide. I can’t come over every day.”
“This has to be done today.”
“OKAY… Fine!! You do what you have to do… I am leaving… Kindly close the door on your way out and don’t make too much noise!”

Sitting in the auto, all sorts of security hassles enter my thoughts… On one hand I think… these men are so unreasonable and anyway, there’s nothing in the house worth stealing… but then again I think… what if they close the door and leave the key hanging on the door… keys can be so easily duplicated…

Am finally at the station… 8:15 is long past gone… It’s 8:27 am Churchgate Slow I’ll have to settle for… Bad! Very BAD..!!

I’ll get desperately late and maybe even miss the morning meeting… Phew… and to think that the day has just begun! The train arrives and I board, squashed like a fly amidst swarms of people. There’s sweat and there’s perfume and I can’t figure out which one is more nauseating… The trains lilting rhythm has always made me snooze. Just then…

“Main koi Aisa Geet Gaoon… Ke Aarzoo Jagaoon… Agar Tum Kaho…
Tumko bulaoon… Palkein Bichaooon… Kadam Tum Jahan Jahan Rakho…”

A group of young girls on their way to college are playing Antakshri on the train…

“Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi mein Tum Bahar Banke… Mere Dil Main Yunhi Rahna… Tum Pyaar Pyaar Banke…”

The frown on my face is waning… I can sense a quietness, a soft release… my mind taking a back seat…

“Jab Koi Baat Bigar Jaye.. Jab Koi Mushkil Par Jaye… Tum Dena Saath Mera… Mere Humnawaaz…”

I feel a catch in my throat as the image of my guardian angel flashes in my mind… who I hope is still sleeping peacefully… above all the mayhem… dreaming the song of life…

“Aa Chal Ke Tujhe… Mein Leke Chaloon… Ek Aise Gagan Ke Tale… Jahan Ghum Bhi Na Ho… Aansoo Bhi Na Ho… Bus Pyaar hi Pyaar Pale… Ek Aise Gagan Ke Tale…”

My mind wakes up…

Terrorist Attack Imminent – US Under Threat Again // Korea Tension High amid War Drill // Iraq arrests over 12 over Church Siege // Suicide Bombers storm Afghan Police Headquarters // Ethnic Clashes in Myanmar kills 100 // Swine Flu reaches Asia

Snacks and smart food for children and youngsters

Snacks and smart food for children and youngsters

Though the habit of eating all the time is not considered to be a good one but still it would prove to be beneficial for the children. For children, especially the growing ones, there is a scientific reason behind this. They are the one who have very higher rate metabolism going inside the body. The timely food is very necessary but the snacks (not hard core fast foods) taken in between helps in providing other nutritious values and proteins. These part-time snacks fulfill about 10% to 15% of the body’s demand apart from the food.

Other view regarding this can be that as the digestive process along with the metabolism is faster in the people of younger age as compared to older aged people, such eating habits does not harm the digestion process, infact keeps the system perfect by timely work. As we know that people who are a bit aged have digestive problems as frequent constipation or loose motions, due to their weaker system they are not advised to do so.

Sandwich that lasts for 14 days

Now, no need to go to Mac.D or KFC everytime, you feel hungry.

You can have a single sandwich that can last for 2 weeks. The scientists had prepared a sandwich that can remain healthy for 2 weeks without spoilage.  There was no difference in the taste as compared of the first day and the 14th day. It was prepared in London.

The technique applied behind this was that the food is kept in such a way so that there is minimum deterioration in it. This is done by increasing slightly acidic nature of food, which prevents bacterial and other micro-organisms growth. Highly perishable ingredients as lettuce and tomatoes are not used.

Another applied science behind this is that the packaging is done in such a way to stop the air exchange and air fleshing process which replaces oxygen by carbon dioxide and nitrogen, which helps in growth of micro-organisms. This is also the basic of packaging of sliced meats.

Thus, this food has a balanced ingredients and nice packing which gives it a long life.

Make your own Guava candy at home

How great would it be if you could make candies at home, well it is possible now. All you need is

Guava fruit pulp -0.5kg,

Sugar- 0.5kg,

Butter -30 gm,

A table spoon lemon juice,

Cardamom (4-5) powdered and food essence.

Strain the guava pulp in a steel strainer and add sugar to it. Then cook the mixture till it gets thick. Then add essence and lemon juice to it. Then cook it till the mixture leaves the sides of the cooking pan. Then add cardamom powder to it stir well and take it off the flame. Spread butter on a plate and place the mixture on it spreading it all over in a uniform fashion. Then cut it into cubes and let it cool. Your home made candy is ready to eat.

Manage extra food smartly

Extra food is a cause of lot of anxiety, not only now but since years before. So our grandmothers have suggested many techniques to tackle this issue. Well today with the help of refrigerators and canned food which contain preservatives this might not sound like a huge distress. Mothers would highly disagree with this, they always face problems with extra food as children and even adults wouldn’t want to eat the same food over again and hence there is a lot of wastage .Certain methods are suggested to use up your leftover food.

  • Left over rice can be added with salt and pepper and mashed .Then the mixture could be made into small balls and then dried. Here you have a snack ready which can be stored for a longer time and can be fried and served with tea.
  • The water that remains after cheese is made at home can be added to the dough which helps make fluffier bread.
  • Left over vegetables can be fried and bread from morning can be dipped in milk, the vegetable can be mashed and stuffed inside the soaked bread, this when fried makes delicious evening snack.
  •  If the dough gets fermented from the power cut last night, it can be mixed with some jaggery and fried on the fried pan.

Positive attitude, goals are necessary for a successful life

Positive attitude, goals are necessary for a successful life

Positive attitude makes a huge difference in your life

Life throws at us various challenging situations. Those who deal with strength, sail through it. Those who succumb to it fail and go through pain. More than the physical strength, it is the mental strength that matters. If one is mentally strong, one can deal with the blows of life. For mental strength, positive attitude or thinking is a must.

Every day is not the same. There are good and bad days in everybody’s life. One cannot expect a life according to one’s wishes. Time keeps changing and the cycle of bring both sorrows and happiness in varying proportions in everybody’s life. When things may go wrong unexpectedly, it is important to pick up oneself and face the situation.

Facing the given situation with a positive attitude makes a huge difference. It gives the strength to deal with the situation and also look for alternatives that can help emerge out of the situation. This holds true in both professional and personal life. Instead of fretting and fuming about the adverse situation, and thinking about negative things, one must focus on the situation with a positive outlook.

The way one handles the situation, either helps overcome or worsen the situation. Positive attitude gives strength and courage. So, it is all about maintaining a positive attitude.

Why goals are necessary for a successful life?

A goal reminds of the purpose in life and keeps one focused to work upon that. A life without goal is like a road without direction. Unless one knows what and where one wants to reach, one cannot lead a fulfilling life. A life without a goal is devoid of any ambition.

Having a purpose in life is extremely important. An aimless life is devoid of any direction and can be confusing and frustrating too. Having a goal brings a sense of direction to life. Many a times, one may fail to reach the goal which is perfectly fine. At least one would have tried reaching the goal and failed rather that not to have tried at all.

Success in life depends on what we make of our life. Goals add-on to that success. They are the ladder to the happiness. They also make one stronger by the day as they urge one to go beyond the set boundaries. We are often tied down by limitations and assume that certain things are not for us. Unless we try, how can we settle down for less?

Hence, having a goal helps bring out the true potential that even we are not aware of.

How to decide what to do in life?

Well friends that one’s a tough call. It’s alright that you’ve come to know much later that you were a child prodigy life’s never too short for dreaming big. But how do we know this is just what I have got to do in my life.

  • I think it all goes back to your early days. You are made a certain way and as you grow up your being is shaped according to what others provide you with. So if you are facing a dilemma do try looking back into your yearbook, or your card collection, may be your report cards, diary entries, the back of your notebooks(if you still have them)or meet your kindergarten teacher and I am sure there’s something that you’d know about yourself that you always knew but had forgotten.
  • You know it when you have a genuine flair for a thing, something which you are good at without putting an effort and if gods forbid you do put an effort you come out with wonders. No matter if it’s not very well paid or even recognized you can give some respect to your inbuilt talent, by giving it a try.
  • Do not underestimate your hobbies, this also goes for housewives who do painting and crafts during spare time. In this era of self employment anything can be turned into a job prospect. What else could be better than a job that also makes you enjoy.
  • Apart from the formal education that you have received, never cease the window of your desires, keep reading and expand your knowledge, there are things that you can be good at it’s just that you don’t know about them yet.
