July 11, World Population Day and Effect of Global Warming

July 11, World Population Day

July 11, is observed as world population day. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1989, established this day to be celebrated as world population day. The population of the world has touched an alarming phase, and we all are responsible for the consequences which we are facing and the hidden effect though invisible but most effective. Today, we are facing global problems as global warming related to environment, unemployment. The visualized effect of increasing population can be seen over the developing countries as India.

Paul Ehrlich, Professor of Population Studies and Biology at Stanford University, warned for this emerging population very earlier in his book “The Population Bomb”.

This year the world population is expected to reach seven billion and United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA), has declared seven billionth day on the account of population.

In India, state government has launched a campaign called “Save Girl Child”, this day, to make people aware and raise the thinking level of the people over the decreasing sex ratio.

How to prevent Global warming?

We all think that if we were like him, we would have done much better than him or what we can do we don’t have power. But have you ever really sat down and thought,

“What exactly, till now is your contribution towards the nature and is it worth?”

It’s quite easy to judge others and skip the situation by blaming them. But we ourselves can do a lot of things. A single effort of us can bring a huge change. We are facing the current problem of global warming. So its time to really contribute from our side, by few of the simple things-

  • Plant trees.
  • During traffic or red-light, just off the ignition of your vehicle. It saves petrol/diesel.
  • Try to buy solar equipments and objects rather than those working on electricity. This saves electricity and reduces green house gases too.
  • Avoid smoking.
  • Always power off all the electrical equipments while they are not in use.
  • Keep the water tap closed while you brush your teeth, this can prevent about 8 gallons of water every day.

Effect of global warming on polar bears

We all are familiar with the term global warming, which is caused by the release of various harmful gases present in the environment. These gases increase the average temperature of the earth, and thus the temperature rises. This rise in temperature plays an adverse effect role for the life of many of the organisms, which are live in cold environment and have their habitat in low temperature only. They cannot survive in the increasing temperature. One of such organism is polar bear . But now, their life is also threatened. Now, polar bear cubs are forced to swim long distances with their mothers as now their icy Arctic habitat is melting. Polar bear hunt, feed and give birth on ice or on land, but they travel hundreds of miles to reach ice platforms or such ice covered lands. Here young polar bear may have greater risk to travel very long distances.

So, it had become an urgent need to take serious actions against global warming and implement them, so that we can save our beautiful mother Earth and her beautiful creations in form of life.

Adobe Photoshop tips, tricks, tools and basics for beginners

In this post, I will discuss about three Adobe Photoshop tips and tricks for beginners:

1) Working with the move tool in Photoshop

Move tool helps in moving objects on the working area. It is more helpful while working with layers. The options on the menu bar reading Auto Select Layer which helps select the object by clicking on it irrespective of the layer on which it is situated. If this option is unclicked then first the concerned layer will have to be clicked and then if the move tool is moved the object drawn on that layer moves automatically. Another option available on the menu bar is the Show Boundary Box option which shows the outline of the construction and nodes which can be stretched for size. This is different from transformation tool which also shows a similar bounding box but it allows more editing options.

2) Make cool text effects using Type Mask tool in Photoshop

Type mask horizontal and vertical options are available in the tool bar. When you click and drag or right-click on the type tool option you also find the type mask option. The Type Mask option allows you to add effects to your text. You can make you test look like any color, shade, effect or even contain parts of an image.

This effect is used popularly in movie posters and book covers. This effect can be obtained by following these easy steps. Select the picture that you want in the background or inside the text.

Select the Type mask tool and write the desired text on it. Then click on the move tool. Then you see the written text appears in running brackets. Next is just cut and paste.

3) Define your desired design as a pattern in Photoshop

To define your desired design as a pattern in Photoshop first of all you need to make up your mind about the design. The open edit option from the menu bar and click on define as pattern. A follow-up menu appears where a name can be entered. Select an area where you need to fill the pattern, click edit and then fill > pattern, select the pattern that you have defined , make sure the area to be filled is selected and then press ok.

In case you want the tiles to be smaller or larger than the size of the individual defined unit has to be altered accordingly.

How to find out if product brand is Burberry, London

Born in the 1800’s in Basingstoke, Hampshire by Thomas Burberry the brand had created a niche in the field of outdoor attire and had been a prerequisite for adventure sports in early days. Today Burberry is a world renowned brand and like many other popular brands is troubled by knock-offs. Here are certain Burberry credentials that will help you ward off imitations and outsmart some of your big mouth colleagues at work.

The famous Burberry checks are basically not checks but are referred to as tartans. The tartan is comprised of tan, white, black and red lining. The linings should appear crisscrossed because of its weave which is known as the Twill weave similar to those seen in denims. In this weave the yarns flow in slanted channels which occur due to a pattern formed by repetition of two wefts (vertically tied yarn on a loom) over a warp (horizontally tied yarn) and one under it. Some of the other brands under Burberry like London also have these tartans in black and white. The visible pattern is very unique and patented by Burberry.

Other specifications are in a Burberry twill tailored trouser you will find a Ribbon embroidered with the Burberry Prorsum inscription inside the waistband, Rubberized Burberry Sport logo at hemline in sportswear and Metallic buttons engraved with the Burberry logo. The Burberry logo is in itself a clean demarcation of the authenticity of the brand.

The famous logo is a knight with an armor (a B inscribed on it) with a Prorsum flag .Burberry operates under five names including BURBERRY LONDON (which is also sometimes mentioned as Burberrys of London), PRORSUM, BRIT, SPORTS and THOMAS BURBERRY. These might be helpful to a possible extent otherwise to be on the safer side shop from a Burberry outlet.  For more insights into the fashion world keep reading.
